Dyana Díaz
Dyana Díaz is a Puerto Rican actress, director, puppeteer, and teaching artist dedicated to theater for young audiences and Spanish-bilingual performances. She earned a B.A. in Performing Arts for Theatrical Expression from the University of Guadalajara, where she co-founded Colectivo Transeúnte, a company focused on youth theater, and collaborated with El Tlakuache Teatro de Títeres. In 2014, she co-founded INART, one of Guadalajara’s first private acting schools, serving as a teaching artist and academic coordinator.
In 2017, Díaz moved to San Francisco and joined the San Francisco Youth Theatre (SFYT), where she now serves as the Spanish-Bilingual Theatre Education Director, integrating arts education with mental health and literacy initiatives. She is also a core member of La Lengua Teatro en Español, a company bringing Spanish-language theater to diverse audiences. In 2024, she performed in Paradise by Tere Martínez, a play exploring contemporary Puerto Rican issues. A passionate advocate for innovative storytelling, Díaz incorporates puppetry into her work and has participated in the National Puppetry Conference at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. Through her commitment to storytelling and community engagement, she continues to create theater that educates, inspires, and empowers.
